Nightly news with Safa – A Review

Book: Nightly News with Safa

Author: Helal Musleh

Illustrator: Hatem Aly

Publishers: Prolance

Nightly news with Safa is a book about a bubbly and perky school going girl. The little girl Safa comes back home from school only to see her mother engrossed in watching the daily news. Little Safa is quite irked by the daily news channel often showing serious, sad and angry news. So she comes up with an idea and transforms her own bedroom into a newsroom and telecasts her own nightly news to her mother. The news of all that happened during the day at school.

Helal Musleh the author of the book, has done a decent job keeping in mind the cognitive ability of kids. This book can be read by kids of of a varied age group and also by kids of all religions. Also the illustrator Hatem Aly has done a wonderful job and has given the best creative touches to the book.

The bubbly Safa might inspire many more news readers and journalists to come. :-P. And the way in which Safa draws pictures to support her piece of news, will draw out the imaginary power of kids. This book is a winner among kids. They are sure to enjoy it, and at a basic level the book will also instill a love for reading among the young generation.
